Celia Chambers is a young woman who's a patient in a mental hospital. She keeps having nightmares that she is working as a gravedigger who may have buried a child alive. But Celia Chambers the gravedigger is having nightmares that she's trapped in a mental hospital headed for tortuous insanity. Only the little girl who's been buried knows which world is real and which one is imagined.
